OUR DECARBONIZATION PROJECT | Episode 2- Installation of the Electric Steam Boiler

As part of our commitment to reduce our environmental impact, we took a key step forward with the installation of our new electric boiler (10 t/h steam; 7 MW electric), replacing a gas-fired steam boiler.

The operational benefits are clear:

🔥 Natural gas reduction: -38,000 MWh/year

Controlled electricity consumption: +33,700 MWh/year

🌍 Reduction in CO2 emissions: -7,000 tons/year

This transition represents a major turning point in our decarbonization efforts and is part of the overall project of the National Low-Carbon Strategy. With this initiative, Alteo is actively contributing to the reduction of direct CO2 emissions, while strengthening its energy efficiency.

As part of our partnership with PARAT, our teams travelled to Norway to validate the technical compliance of the electric boiler. Following this visit, the boiler was successfully delivered and installed, enabling it to be commissioned in July.

This success is due above all to exceptional teamwork, combining the involvement of our in-house teams and close collaboration with our external partners such as Parat, our supplier, and Parlym, who carried out the pre-feasibility study. It was this collective dynamic and synergy that enabled us to bring this ambitious project to a successful conclusion.

This installation represents a major milestone in our commitment to decarbonization, and we’re delighted to be able to play an active part in building a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly future.
